Document Privacy and Local Processing

Local Processing

ProScan PDF is designed to protect your document privacy. All core functionality operates locally on your device:

• Document Scanning: All camera-based document scanning is processed locally
• OCR (Optical Character Recognition): Text extraction from documents occurs entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework
• PDF Creation and Editing: PDF generation, organization, signing, and password protection are performed locally
• Document Storage: All scanned documents and created PDFs are stored locally on your device

We do not upload, access, or store your documents on our servers. Your scanned documents, OCR text, and PDF files remain private and under your control.

Camera and Photo Library Access

The App requires access to your device camera and photo library to function:

• Camera Access: Used for scanning documents and capturing images
• Photo Library Access: Used for importing existing photos to convert to PDFs

This access is used solely for the stated functionality. We do not access other photos or use your camera for any purpose other than document scanning.

Collecting and Using Your Personal Data

Your Document Data: All documents, scans, and PDFs are stored locally on your device and may sync to your iCloud Documents folder if iCloud is enabled. We do not have access to this data and cannot delete it remotely. You maintain full control over your documents and can delete them directly from the app or your device. iCloud synchronization is managed entirely by Apple according to their privacy policies.

Data Security

The security of Your Personal Data is important to Us. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:

• Local Processing: Document content is processed locally, reducing exposure risks
• iCloud Security: When iCloud Documents sync is enabled, documents benefit from Apple's end-to-end encryption and security measures

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect Your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you may not access the Service.

Application refers to ProScan PDF, the software program provided by the Company.

Use License

Grant of License

• Download, install, and use the Application on your personal mobile devices
• Use the Application for personal, non-commercial document scanning and PDF creation
• Create, view, organize, and manage PDF documents using the Application's features

License Restrictions

You may not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Application

Subscription and Payment Terms

Free Trial

We may offer a free trial period for new users. During the trial period, you have access to all premium features of the Application. The trial period duration will be clearly indicated in the app.

Subscription Plans

After the trial period, continued access to premium features requires an active subscription. Subscription plans and pricing are displayed in the Application and may include:

• Monthly subscriptions
• Annual subscriptions
• Other plans as we may offer from time to time

Payment and Billing

• All payments are processed through the Apple App Store
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Your Apple ID will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
• You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings
• No refunds are provided for unused portions of subscriptions, except as required by applicable law

Changes to Subscription Terms

We reserve the right to change subscription prices and terms. Price changes will be communicated in advance and will not affect your current subscription period.

Acceptable Use

Permitted Uses

You may use the Application to:

• Scan personal and business documents
• Create, organize, and manage PDF files
• Extract text from documents using OCR technology
• Add digital signatures to PDFs
• Password-protect your documents
• Share documents through supported platforms

Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Application to:

• Scan or process documents that contain illegal content
• Violate any intellectual property rights
• Scan confidential documents belonging to others without permission
• Create fraudulent or deceptive documents
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Interfere with or disrupt the Application's functionality
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data

User Content and Data

Your Documents

You retain all rights to the documents you scan and PDFs you create using the Application. We do not claim ownership of your content.

Local Storage and iCloud Sync

All documents and PDFs are stored locally on your device in your Documents folder. ProScan PDF integrates with iCloud Documents to provide seamless synchronization across your Apple devices:

• iCloud Documents Integration: Documents are stored in your iCloud Documents folder when iCloud is enabled
• Cross-Device Sync: Your scanned documents automatically sync across all your Apple devices signed into the same iCloud account
• User Control: You can enable or disable iCloud sync through your device settings
• Apple's Privacy: iCloud synchronization is handled entirely by Apple according to their privacy policies

Important: When iCloud Documents sync is enabled, your documents are stored in Apple's iCloud service according to Apple's terms and privacy policy. We do not have access to your iCloud data - this is handled entirely by Apple's secure infrastructure.

Data Backup and iCloud Integration

You are responsible for backing up your documents. ProScan PDF integrates with iCloud Documents to provide automatic synchronization:

• iCloud Documents: When enabled, your documents automatically sync across all your Apple devices
• Additional Backup: We recommend also using other backup solutions for important documents
• User Control: You can enable or disable iCloud sync in your device settings

Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

• The legality and appropriateness of documents you scan
• Obtaining necessary permissions for scanning third-party documents
• Ensuring your documents do not violate intellectual property rights
• Complying with data protection laws when scanning personal information

Privacy and Data Protection

OCR Accuracy

The OCR (Optical Character Recognition) feature is provided for convenience. We do not guarantee 100% accuracy in text recognition and recommend reviewing extracted text for accuracy.

Document Security

While we implement security measures, you are responsible for:

• Securing your device and protecting your documents
• Using strong passwords for password-protected PDFs
• Backing up important documents

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, documents, or business opportunities.

Termination

Termination by You

You may terminate your use of the Application at any time by deleting it from your device and canceling any active subscriptions.

Termination by Us

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, though this typically will not affect documents stored locally on your device.

Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

• Your license to use the Application ends
• You should delete the Application from your devices
• Documents stored locally on your device remain your property
• Subscription charges will continue until canceled through the App Store

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the use of the Application.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.

Assignment
